miserable moths

Miserable colours are what inspire me ....and moths....while I will never be a neat embroiderer, I am pleased with the way the colours turned out..I dyed lots of squares of linen by dipping them in various pans of dye and overdying to get lovely muddy mothy colors!

soft tomatoes

Just when you think that you might be going senile and you cannot cope because there is so much to do, make some fabric tomatoes! Really bonkers and completely useless, they are a good way of using left over fabric! ....and I do have alot of that!

flowery bracelets

Mighty busy this past week with the day job has left this blog looking a bit deserted!
But decided last night to completely ignore the little screaming terrors trick and treating last night (Nick did the honors) and sat and sewed the orders for bracelets and necklaces that should have been done last week, nearly there....very pleased with the liberty fabric bracelets which seem to be getting madder and floweryer as the weeks go by......

more flowers

Have just finished another 2 flowers so that now I have a bouquet! Don't quite know what to do with them, but am thinking about opening an etsy shop to sell some of my handmade goodies...just need to give up the full time work and sell the children.......Spring has definitely arrived though in my garden, I really love blue flowers and you cannot get bluer than the amazing Cerinthe purpurens...it has seeded all over my gravel garden...just lovely and I didn't even need to buy any fabric!!!

fabric flowers

Really inspired by flowers popping up everywhere have made a load of stiffened fabric flowers. Have used some lovely fabrics found at our very well stocked local quilting shop and tried to keep the colours tonally the same. Cannot wait to make some more now...just need to get the stiffness right in the stems....a bit floppy at the moment! A huge vase with loads of them would look great!

Spoonflower

Finally finished the dress pattern for the Spoonflower fabric of the week....have to admit that I am a bit obsessed with competitions and fabric printing...and this one was a challenge. The design is for a 4 year old girl's pinafore style dress with 6 patch pockets all around the bottom of the skirt...have to make it up out of calico yet so that I can see whether my measurements are correct!

skirts and necklaces

Hooray, have finished my clothkits skirt and a new style necklace....embroidered the felt balls with contrasting silks, which tended to disguise the bad felting!
